Off the beaten path is where I thrive

I’ve never been one for straight roads. Not in life, and definitely not in advertising.

I began as a journalist, dived into Arts & Culture as an editorial assistant, became an editorial manager, founded a PR startup, and backpacked a continent before heading to Miami Ad School. Those detours taught me what most creatives only learn later: how to lead teams, spot stories, and make people care.

Since then, I’ve worked at top agencies - from BETC Paris to LePub Milan, now VML Berlin - creating campaigns for iconic brands like Heineken, Amazon, and Coca-Cola. My ideas earned international recognition, including Cannes Lions.

Turns out straying takes me to the best adventures... and ideas.

Off the track...

To know me, you have to stray into the wild with me. Grab two dry boots, pick a wet suit, take a backpack and follow me uphill. You’ll smell the frisky breath of the unknown. You’ll see your pores gasp. You’ll hear your heart expand. You’ll have a taste of freedom.

Yes, I like gripping intros and epic bios.
But more, I have a thing for epic living.

I first sensed the urge to stray when I was about 13. School was not fit for my racing wits, my arborescent mind. I dropped out when I was 16.

I then dived into journalism. I immersed in publishing. I jumped off my island - Mauritius - to backpack through a continent - South America. I absorbed cultures and languages distant from the ones I was raised in. I made them mine.

I trek through life to discover new heights over long days and short nights. And when I sleep, I dream in English, French, Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese.

To advertise fans for a One-Minute-Brief, I looked at hot summer afternoons... and branched off to influencers. I found that social media users feel an urge to create enhanced content and share photos that 'pop'.

To come up with cool surfboard designs, I looked away from
the waves and saw the sky. I realized that surfing made me fly.

To re-enact Patagonia's "Don't buy this jacket" campaign in July 2021, I stared at their mission statement and headed the other way. Instead of stating brand values, I put the audience to action. I triggered them to pass on their used gear via Patagonia's page wornwear.patagonia.com.
